Dinner in Jerez!

Hola!

In an attempt to get totally caught up to date with blogging, I am writing briefly about tonight’s dinner.  We went downstairs about 9-ish, which is our latest start to date – but it seems like things were truly just opening up and getting started!  Incredible!

Main plaza in town

Yes, you're right, I WAS freezing!

Fabulous potatoes in aioli - no vampires tonight!

My scrambled eggs with ham!

R's steak and warm chips!

Patatas Bravas, which I didn't really care for, but R did!

Mushrooms with ham & chips!

We asked at the desk for a good tapas recommendation, and were given a map and a couple of names. We walked about 10 minutes to the main plaza in town, and there on the corner was the Taperia Meson del Asabor.  They were full inside with a waiting list, but they were able to seat us outside on their patio immediately.  I almost froze … however, the food came quickly and individually – as one dish was ready, out it came.  All in all, we ordered five different tapas –Patatas Bravas, Patatas Aioli (wow!  These were FABULOUS!) mushrooms stuffed with ham, small beef steak with fresh potato chips and scrambled eggs with ham.  (I’m thinking that by the time we get home, I may never want to see ham ever again!)  With those dishes, we also had two glasses of excellent red wine and a small bottle of water … and the bill?  23.40€– amazing!

Back in the room now, and I’ll post this and then get to bed.  Hopefully tonight will be an easier night than last night!

Much love,
m
